Zebra Spiny Eel (Mastacembelus zebrinus)

The Zebra Spiny Eel is a fascinating and elegant large spiny eel that immediately catches the eye with its striking zebra pattern. With its long, slender body shape and curious behavior, it is one of the most exciting species for larger aquariums. Mastacembelus zebrinus swims calmly and majestically and thrives particularly well in naturally designed tanks with a sand substrate, roots, and plenty of hiding places.

As this spiny eel grows significantly larger than many other species, it is primarily suitable for large aquariums. With sufficient space, it exhibits impressive exploratory behavior, yet remains peaceful towards larger tank mates.
