Zebra Oto Catfish (Otocinclus cocama)

The Zebra Otocinclus is one of the most sought-after and rarest Otocinclus species. With its high-contrast black and white zebra pattern, Otocinclus cocama clearly stands out from other algae eaters and is a real eye-catcher in planted aquariums. This species originates from the upper Amazon region in Peru, inhabiting calm, oxygen-rich waters with dense vegetation.

Otocinclus cocama is a very peaceful, gregarious fish that prefers to stay in groups and spends its time grazing on growth and biofilms on plants, roots, and glass. A well-established aquarium with stable water parameters is crucial for successful keeping, as this species is more sensitive than many other Otocinclus species.
