The Tridacna gigas is the largest clam species in the world and an impressive inhabitant for large saltwater aquariums. Even at a young age, it captivates with its colorful mantle and imposing appearance. Through symbiosis with zooxanthellae, it covers a large part of its energy needs through light and contributes to the biological diversity in the reef aquarium.
