The Tridacna derasa is one of the most popular giant clams in marine aquariums. With its attractive mantle coloration and steady growth, it is an excellent choice for well-established reef aquariums. Through the zooxanthellae living in its tissue, it derives a large part of its energy from light and thus contributes to the natural diversity of the aquarium.
