Stonogobiops nematodes – filamentous shrimpgoby / partner goby

The Stonogobiops nematodes is an attractive and peaceful partner goby from the Indo-Pacific. Its slender, whitish-transparent body with fine markings and striking dorsal fin make it an elegant eye-catcher in the sand area of a reef aquarium.

The filament-finned prawn-goby lives in close symbiosis with pistol shrimp and spends most of its time in front of its sand burrow, which they guard together. Due to its interesting behavior and small size, it is ideal for well-structured reef aquariums with sand zones and calm tankmates.
