Monodactylus sebae (Sebae Mono)

The Sebae Mono is an attractive fish species with a silvery, rhomboid body and striking fins, living in brackish to marine water. It is suitable for larger aquariums with experienced care.

Care instructions:

• Size: Up to approx. 25

• Water parameters: Temperature 24–28 °C, pH 7.2–8.5; brackish water recommended (slightly salty)

• Food: Omnivore – mixture of vegetable and animal food, e.g., flakes/granules + live or frozen food

• Behavior: Social, schooling fish; at least a small group recommended, requires sufficient swimming space

Keeping notes:

• Requires a spacious aquarium due to active swimming behavior

• Pure freshwater is not ideal long-term; brackish to marine conditions preferred

• Keeping in groups (6 or more fish) reduces stress and promotes natural schooling behavior
