Red Wolf Fish (Erythrinus sp. Peru red)

A predatory freshwater fish from the Amazon region of Peru, notable for its red fin coloration and active predatory behavior. It is suitable only for experienced aquarists.

Care Instructions:

• Size: Up to about 25 cm adult size

• Water parameters: Temperature approx. 22-28 °C, pH approx. 5.5-7.5, soft to medium water preferred

• Food: Carnivorous – e.g. small fish, crustaceans, live or frozen food

• Behavior: Solitary or in very large tanks; predatory and territorial; smaller fish are seen as prey

Keeping Notes:

• Minimum aquarium length: approx. 120 cm

• Plenty of hiding places – e.g. roots, caves – so the animal feels secure

• Only socialize with robust fish of equal or larger size; avoid smaller fish

• Suitable exclusively for experienced aquarists with an appropriately equipped tank
