Pterosynchiropus picturatus, also known as the "Green Mandarinfish," fascinates with its colorful pattern of green, blue, and orange tones and its calm, almost floating swimming motion. As a captive-bred specimen, this mandarinfish is a true specialty: significantly more receptive to food, more stress-resistant, and much better adapted to life in an aquarium than wild-caught specimens. Acclimatization is therefore much easier.
It prefers to stay near the bottom and among the rocks, where it calmly searches for small food. In well-structured, established reef tanks, its natural behavior comes into its own beautifully.
Advantages of captive breeding:
• Accepts frozen and fine foods significantly better
• More stress-resistant and longer-lived than wild-caught specimens
• More sustainable and responsible origin
• Observable, calm social behavior
Care:
• Well-established reef aquarium with stable microfauna
• Many hiding places and calm zones in the rockwork
• Peaceful and non-aggressive tank mates
• Regularly feed fine frozen foods such as Cyclops, copepods, Mysis
A gentle, colorful highlight – and as a captive-bred specimen, an excellent and sustainable choice for lovers of peaceful reef inhabitants.
