The Santa Isabel Angelfish is a beautiful wild form of the well-known Pterophyllum scalare and originates from the Rio Negro region in Brazil. This form impresses with its natural, high-contrast markings, its high body shape, and its particularly elegant swimming style. Compared to cultivated forms, the Santa Isabel variant appears much more natural and is particularly popular with enthusiasts of natural forms.

Pterophyllum scalare "Santa Isabel" exhibits calm, social behavior and flourishes best when kept in groups. In well-structured aquariums with roots, plants, and calm zones, this wild form displays very natural behavior and, under good conditions, can also pair and breed.
