Pseudochromis leucorhynchus – captive-bred
Pseudochromis leucorhynchus is a high-contrast dottyback with a deep dark yellow body and a striking white snout tip. It appears lively, clearly marked, and is often highly visible in the tank. As a captive-bred specimen, it is particularly robust, readily accepts food, and is more stress-resistant, which greatly facilitates acclimatization.
It exhibits confident, but not overly aggressive behavior and is well-suited for structured reef tanks with plenty of hiding places. With sufficient visual barriers, it can be easily integrated into peaceful reef communities.
Advantages of captive breeding:
• Very good acclimatization
• Reliably accepts frozen and dry food
• More sustainable alternative to wild-caught specimens
• More stable and stress-resistant compared to wild-caught specimens
Husbandry:
• Well-established reef aquarium
• Many caves, crevices, and small hiding areas
• Ideal individually or as a pair
• Can be combined well with other calm to slightly robust species
A striking dottyback with clear markings – and as a captive-bred specimen, a stable, sustainable choice for the reef tank.
