Pomacanthus asfur is one of the most impressive angelfish of all. Its deep navy blue, clear yellow band, and bright yellow caudal fin give it a majestic, almost royal presence in the tank. As a captive-bred specimen, Pomacanthus asfur is particularly valuable: significantly more stable, readily accepts food, and much more stress-resistant than wild-caught specimens. Acclimatization is therefore much easier.
It unfolds its full effect in larger, well-structured reef aquariums with plenty of free swimming space and calm retreat zones. Its behavior is calm, confident, and self-assured.
Advantages of captive breeding:
• Very good acclimatization
• Reliably eats frozen and dry food
• More sustainable alternative to wild-caught specimens
• Lower stress and disease risk
Care:
• Large, well-established reef aquarium
• Free swimming space + structured setup
• Calm, respectful tank mates
• Observe coral compatibility individually
A royal eye-catcher with strong charisma – and as a captive-bred specimen, a responsible and reliable choice for experienced marine aquarists.
