Nymphaea lotus zenkeri - Red Tiger Lotus - Tuber

A beautiful and highly variable species from West Africa, featuring green to reddish-brown leaves with varying numbers of red-violet spots. The plants grow 20-80 cm tall. Before floating leaves appear, Nymphaea lotus forms many submerged leaves. If you prefer not to have floating leaves, roots and leaves can be pruned to keep the plant more compact. In an open aquarium, you can admire the beautiful, fragrant blossom. A nutrient-rich substrate promotes growth. Available in a red and a green variant. A recommended solitary plant for large aquariums.
