Moenkhausia copei - South American schooling fish

Moenkhausia copei is an attractive and lively schooling fish from South America, captivating with its elegant silvery body and subtle metallic shimmer. Especially when in a school, this active characin displays impressive behavior and provides plenty of movement in the middle water layers of the aquarium.

Due to its peaceful nature, Moenkhausia copei is excellent for larger community and South American aquariums. In combination with dark substrate and dense planting, its natural colors and fine sheen are particularly accentuated.

Moenkhausia copei readily accepts frozen food, Artemia, Cyclops, as well as high-quality flake and granular food. A varied diet promotes health and color development.

Dimmed lighting and dark substrate bring out the metallic sheen particularly intensely and promote natural schooling behavior.
