Seaweed-like water spike tuber - Aponogeton ulvaceus

Aponogeton ulvaceus is one of the most beautiful species of the genus Aponogeton from Madagascar. The leaves are delicate green, transparent, and beautifully wavy at the edges. A single root tuber can develop more than 40 leaves and grow 30-60 cm high and wide, making it most suitable as a solitary plant in large aquariums. It is relatively tolerant and thrives in soft and hard water, especially with CO2 fertilization. There are many varieties, some of which require a resting period during which the tuber does not form leaves.
