Lysmata amboinensis

The Lysmata amboinensis is one of the most popular cleaner shrimps in saltwater aquariums. With its striking red and white markings and long white back stripe, it is not only decorative but also functional: it removes parasites and dead skin particles from fish, thus actively contributing to tank hygiene.

Indo-Pacific – including Red Sea, Maldives, Indonesia to Central Pacific

Temperature range:
24–28 °C (tropical saltwater aquarium)

Note:
Peaceful, easy to keep, and well-suited for reef aquariums. Best kept in small groups or as a pair.
