Expected adult size: up to 45cm
Recommended aquarium size: ~ 3000 liters
Recommended water temperature: 22 – 28 °C
Recommended keeping method: Solitary
Food: Artemia, Mysis, Krill, small smelt, sand shrimp and other large frozen food varieties
Special features: Very special fish in its appearance and demands! It absolutely requires a powerful UV system, otherwise this species will immediately get ich. It goes without saying that due to its expected adult size, it should only be kept in sufficiently large tanks! In the tank, it needs areas with low current, as it is not one of the best swimmers.
Not picky about food, usually eats everything offered, even invertebrates in the tank such as shrimp, brittle stars, tube worms, etc. can be considered food!
The fish is poisonous and should be removed from the tank immediately if it dies. Otherwise, it is harmless to the keeper in daily handling.
