The L401 Hypancistrus (Hypancistrus sp. "L401") is a beautiful, rare L-catfish from the Rio Negro in Brazil. With its striking black and white stripe pattern, reminiscent of the well-known L333, it is one of the most attractive representatives of its genus.

The L401 remains relatively compact with a final size of around 10–12 cm and exhibits calm, peaceful behavior. It is predominantly crepuscular and likes to stay in caves and among roots. Ideally suited for structured, well-currented aquariums with warm, soft water.

🍽️ Feeding:
The Hypancistrus L401 is a predominantly carnivorous L-catfish. It prefers frozen and live food such as Artemia, Mysis, Cyclops, or mussel meat. Additionally, it accepts protein tabs, granules, and occasionally vegetable food (spirulina, vegetable chips).

💡 Tip:
Offer the L401 several caves and shaded hiding places. Good oxygen supply, regular water changes, and a slight current promote health, vibrant colors, and natural behavior.
