The L201 Orinoco Angel Pleco (Hypancistrus sp. "L201") is a peaceful, attractive L-catfish from the Río Orinoco in Venezuela. Its deep black base color with bright, contrasting glowing spots makes it one of the most beautiful and popular representatives of the Hypancistrus group.
This catfish remains comparatively small with a final size of about 10–12 cm and is ideal for community aquariums with other peaceful species. Hypancistrus L201 is predominantly crepuscular and likes to stay in caves or under roots.
