L024 Pseudacanthicus pitanga

The L024 Pseudacanthicus pitanga, also known as the Red Fin Tiger Pleco, is a particularly attractive representative of the large armored catfishes. Characteristic features include its strong, dark base coloration and intensely red to orange fins, which become more prominent with age. This species originates from the Rio Xingu in Brazil and impresses with its robust appearance and imposing aura.

Pseudacanthicus pitanga is primarily crepuscular and nocturnal and requires a well-structured aquarium with many caves, roots, and strong current areas. It can be territorial towards conspecifics and other bottom-dwelling fish but is otherwise mostly peaceful. Due to its maximum size and space requirements, this species is best suited for large aquariums with powerful filtration systems.
