An absolute jewel for any saltwater aquarium! The King Solomon pygmy basslet impresses with its bright fuchsia-violet coloration and fascinating behavior. As this is a controlled captive breeding (CB), the fish is already well adapted to aquarium life, eats well, and also protects natural reefs.
The most important things at a glance:
-
Origin: Originally endemic to the Red Sea (here as sustainable captive breeding).
-
Color: Bright, vibrant violet/fuchsia with a characteristic dark stripe above the eye.
-
Size: Grows to approx. 6–7 cm.
-
Care: Easy to care for, ideal for reef aquariums from approx. 150 liters. Can be kept as a pair or single.
-
Behavior: Likes to seek out caves and crevices, but regularly shows itself at the front of the reef. Absolutely coral reef safe (Reef Safe)!
