The Hydrocynus forskahlii, also known as the "Tigerfish," is a large, predatory freshwater fish from Africa. It is demanding to keep and only suitable for very experienced aquarists.

Size: Up to 70 cm or more

Water parameters: Temperature 24–28 °C, pH 6.5–7.5; very good oxygen supply required

Food: Carnivorous – smaller fish, crustaceans; active predator

Behavior: Very active, territorial, fast; sensitive to tanks that are too small or incorrect co-housing
Keeping Notes:

Minimum aquarium length: approx. 250 cm, the larger the better

High-quality filtration and good water circulation necessary

No small fish as tankmates – they will be considered prey
-
Only suitable for experienced aquarists
