The Green Spotted Pufferfish is an extremely charismatic and intelligent pufferfish that immediately attracts attention with its contrasting green and black pattern and its curious nature. Dichotomyctere fluviatilis originates from estuaries and coastal regions of South and Southeast Asia, where it predominantly lives in brackish water. Its pronounced personality and attentive behavior make it a true character fish.
This species is territorial and is best kept alone or with very robust, fast tank mates. Due to its strong teeth, the Green Spotted Pufferfish regularly needs hard-shelled food to prevent its teeth from overgrowing. A richly structured setup with hiding places and good water quality are crucial for successful keeping.
