The one-stripe spiny eel originates from freshwater areas of South and Southeast Asia and is characterized by its elongated, slender body with distinctive stripes. It is an interesting inhabitant for experienced aquarists.

• Water parameters: Temperature 24–28 °C, pH 6.5–7.5, soft to medium-hard water

• Food: Meaty food such as worms, small crustaceans, live or frozen food

• Behavior: Bottom dweller, mostly nocturnal; solitary or small groups, requires hiding places
