This pipefish immediately stands out due to its yellow-black banded pattern and its calm, hovering movements. As a captive bred specimen, it is significantly more robust, readily accepts food, and is more stress-resistant than wild-caught individuals – ideal for successful keeping in an aquarium.
It prefers to live in calm areas of the reef, moves slowly along the rocks, and appears elegant and unobtrusive. Regular feeding with fine frozen food is important.
Advantages of captive breeding:
• Very good acclimatization
• Reliably accepts frozen food
• More sustainable alternative to wild-caught specimens
• Calm, peaceful behavior
Care:
• Well-established, calm reef aquarium
• Peaceful tankmates
• Pair or group keeping recommended
• Offer fine frozen food regularly
An elegant, calm reef personality – and particularly valuable and recommended as a captive bred specimen.
