The Yellow Watchman Goby lives in a close partnership with pistol shrimp, creating one of the most exciting natural behavior displays in a reef aquarium. With its warm yellow hue and calm, observant nature, it brings life without being intrusive. As a captive-bred specimen, Cryptocentrus cinctus is particularly robust, readily accepting food, and more stress-resistant, which significantly simplifies acclimation.
It prefers to stay on the bottom near its burrow, from where it attentively observes its surroundings. Ideal for harmonious reef tanks with a fine sand zone and structured rockwork.
Advantages of captive breeding:
• Very good acclimation
• Reliably eats frozen and dry food
• More sustainable alternative to wild-caught
• Calm, socially compatible behavior
Care:
• Fine sandy bottom for shared burrows with pistol shrimp
• Reef structure with hiding places
• Fits very well into peaceful tanks
• Particularly exciting in combination with Alpheus (pistol shrimp)
A peaceful, charming character fish – and as a captive-bred specimen, an excellent choice for sustainable reef aquaristics.
