Cryptocentrus cinctus – Yellow Watchman Goby

The Cryptocentrus cinctus is one of the most well-known and popular partner gobies in marine aquaristics. Its strong yellow to yellow-brown coloring makes it a striking inhabitant of the sand area in a reef aquarium.

The yellow watchman goby lives in close symbiosis with pistol shrimp and cohabits sand caves with them, which it actively guards. Its typical behavior and high adaptability make it an ideal beginner fish for structured reef aquariums with sand zones and peaceful inhabitants.
