Coffee Bean Tetra Wild Caught – Hyphessobrycon takasei

The wild-caught Coffee-Bean Tetra (Hyphessobrycon takasei) is a rare and particularly elegant dwarf tetra from South America. It owes its name to the striking dark marking on its body, which resembles a coffee bean. Together with its warm golden shimmer, this creates an exceptionally natural and noble look that comes into its own particularly well in blackwater and biotope aquariums.

As a wild-caught specimen, this small tetra displays particularly natural schooling behavior and appears extremely harmonious in larger groups. Its peaceful nature makes it ideal for calm community aquariums with a South American character.

🍽️ Feeding:
The wild-caught Coffee-Bean Tetra readily accepts fine frozen food, Artemia nauplii, cyclops, microfood, and high-quality granular food. A varied diet promotes vitality and color intensity.

💡 Tip:
Humic substances, dark substrate, and subdued lighting bring out the natural markings and golden shimmer particularly intensely.
