Ceratophyllum demersum, also known as hornwort, is an extremely robust and fast-growing aquarium plant that does not require roots. It can float freely in the water or be loosely anchored in the substrate and is suitable both as a floating plant and for the background of larger aquariums.
Due to its rapid growth, Ceratophyllum demersum is an excellent nutrient absorber that helps reduce algae growth and stabilize water quality. The finely feathered, rich green shoots provide ideal hiding places for fry and shrimp. Due to its undemanding nature, it is particularly suitable for beginners, breeding tanks, and newly set up aquariums.
