The Centropyge fisheri, also known as the Fisher's Angelfish, is a particularly attractive and relatively rare dwarf angelfish from the Pacific. With its intense orange-red base color and fine vertical stripes, it is a real eye-catcher in well-established marine aquariums.

This species is suitable for experienced aquarists and is preferably kept in structured reef aquariums with sufficient hiding places. With good acclimatization, the Fisher's Angelfish proves to be active, curious, and constantly present.

Characteristics

  • Scientific name: Centropyge fisheri

  • Origin: Pacific (e.g. Hawaii)

  • Max. size: approx. 7–8 cm

  • Behavior: territorial, incompatible with other dwarf angelfish

  • Housing: solitary

  • Aquarium size: from approx. 250 liters

  • Food: frozen food, fine granules, algal growth

Care & Notes

The Centropyge fisheri should only be kept in stable, well-established marine aquariums. A varied diet and regular natural algal growth promote health and color intensity. As with many dwarf angelfish, occasional nipping at soft corals or LPS cannot be completely ruled out.
