Aristonei snakehead (Channa aristonei)
A striking, still rarely imported species of snakehead fish from Northeast India with decorative markings.

Care instructions:

• Max size: Up to approx. 20-30 cm

• Water parameters: Temperature 22–30 °C; pH approx. 6.5-7.5; soft to medium water

• Food: Carnivorous – small fish, shrimp, high-quality frozen or live food

• Behavior: Stays relatively small, yet territorial towards conspecifics; solitary keeping or a very well-structured tank recommended

Keeping notes:

• Minimum aquarium length: approx. 120-150 cm recommended

• Aquarium with many hiding places such as roots, caves, and dense marginal planting

• Well-covered tank necessary – snakeheads are prone to escaping

• Suitable for experienced aquarists
