With its flat, knife-shaped body and floating, wavy movement, it glides silently through the water – a fascinating spectacle that enriches any aquarium.

In its natural habitat, the calm rivers and swamps of West and Central Africa, Xenomystus nigri lives in densely vegetated bank areas. There, it usually stays in shaded areas and is most active during dusk and night. This species is peaceful, sensitive, and very adaptable – ideal for experienced keepers of calm community tanks.
